Headquarters and Headquarter Company
November 22, 1968

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Cork and will continued to work with ARVN units their Area of Operations in OPERATION VERNON LAKE II. At 2300hrs LZ Snoopy received 18-20 rounds 81or 82mm mortar fire along with scattered small arms fire, negative casualties or damage.

Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 0903hrs LATE ENTRY Navy man at hardstand was hit by a truck with results, one broken leg, Dust Off is completed. At 0925hrs 19 Engineer BS752501 Mine Sweep team found mine on west side of road. It detonated type with flash light batteries and blasting caps, blew mine with frag grenade no secondary explosion, checked area and continued sweep. At 1055hrs 19 Engineer reports Road is open from LZ Dragon to Bong Song. At 1110hrs Charlie Company 39 Engineer Mine Sweep Team at BS724571 ambush at above coordinates, gun ships are in route. At 1110hrs 174 Gun Ships at BS723566 KIA 10 VC and APC’s from E Troop KIA 4 VC.


Alpha Company
November 22, 1968

Alpha Company will conduct Search and Sweeps Operations in their Area of Operation.


Bravo Company
November 22, 1968

Bravo Company at BS449599 found a small base camp, which they destroyed and also a grave with a body in it at 1210hrs. Body had been dead for 2 days with frag in chest. 1410hrs Bravo Company found small base camp, 5 old huts, a tunnel investigated with negative results, very small tunnel destroyed. Bravo Company closed on LZ Cork and take over the Security Mission.


Charlie Company
November 22, 1968

Charlie Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Cork. At 1645hrs Charlie Company reports their location at BS447623.


Delta Company
November 22, 1968

At 1420hrs Delta Company reports their locations at 133 BS418583, Command Post at BS412588. At 1645hrs Delta Company reports their location at BS410588.


Echo Company
November 22, 1968

Echo Company is located at LZ Cork where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Cork. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Cork where they continue to provide direct fire support for the (1-20 Infantry Battalion). At 1410hrs Recon Platoon reports their location a BS499594. At 1425hrs Recon Platoon at BS499595 found a base camp that was lived in some huts not complete, footprints all around area. At 1645hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS497596.
